12-4-1
Temple have started building a new team by recruiting 6 freshmen, after 6 men left. The people that graduated were all key roles. Hopefully, the new players are able to replace the key roles they lost. Jorge Gomez Sanchez, one of the six people that left, led 5 categories, including Points, Goals, Shots, Shots on Goal, and Game Winning Goals. Without him, they will need anew midfielder to attack, but also set up plays. (He was 2nd in assists). Another leader, Matt Mahoney, will leave. (Tied for 3rd in goals and assists, in 3rd for Points, shots, and shots on goal, and tied for second in game winning goals.) And the final star to be leaving is captain Carlos Moros Gracia, who was with Jorge Gomez Sanchez on the 2015 All-Conference second team and the 2016 All-Conference first team. Alex Cagle will stay as keeper, but they did bring in a new keeper. Micheal Sammik is the 4th goalie on the team. Only 2 keepers, Alex Cagle and Robin Goetz, even got to play last year! But they do need extra goalie support, as this is his final year. This decision is probably to secure next year's roster so they are never down a goalie.

Prediction:
10-6-2 Leading scorer Matt Crawford, who was a Soccer Six all star last year, will return, along with second-leading scorer Derrick Mackinnon. Out of the 12 new players on their roster*, one of them will have to replace last year's captain Bliss Harris. He was the other Soccer Six all star last year. But he is not the only one leaving. Mori Diane, Sam Irvin, and Mike Stuski also graduated. This year, Ben Cochran, a New Jersey all-state defender in high school, will hopefully take Isaac Agyapong's position on the Soccer Six all-rookie team. Greg O'Connell will return for the last season in his college career. In 2016, he had 5 shutouts, which is 9th best in St. Joes history. *including Ben Cochran, redshirt freshman Bliss Harris was nice enough to meet with me after coaching in the St. Joes youth camp. He has been on St. Joes for all four years, 2016 being his graduating year, and hopes to go pro. Here are his accomplishments: 2013 all rookie team, 2015 and 2016 all star, and 2016 Atlantic 10 conference second team.
